Atlas Copco announced it has become the official compressed air supplier of the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX). Atlas Copco will provide SRX with its latest variable speed VSD+ design compressor, along with all the piping and air distribution systems. SRX is a six-race short-track series airing this summer on Saturday nights in primetime on CBS featuring purpose-built racecars designed by NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief and team owner Ray Evernham.

Atlas Copco’s design specialists worked in conjunction with SRX to create a custom-fitted 8,000 sq.-ft. facility in Mooresville, N.C., where SRX will build 16 cars in time for its June 12 debut at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway. The SRX facility is located 50 miles from Atlas Copco Compressor’s U.S. headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C. “We’re proud to be partnering with SRX at the start of this incredibly exciting journey,” said Paul Humphreys, vice-president of communications and branding for Atlas Copco Compressors LLC. “The constant change in demand for air at the facility makes it a perfect candidate to benefit from the energy efficiency of the latest VSD design compressors.”

The Montag Group leads business operations and Evernham oversees all racing operations. Pyne is a member of the Board and serves as an advisor.
